Yikes. I'm very argumentative tonight. Good thing my parents are sleeping, and Dave has this thing called employment so I'd feel bad calling him this late. But I'm all steamed up-- I need someone to tip me over and pour me out.
Instead, let's recap the weekend:
Friday, I went to Midland, equipped with a taboulli salad, a bag of ingredients and Dave's mom's recipes for his favorite foods. I should mention it was our 3 year anniversary this weekend, and that I did not in fact become a short, red-haired Emeril. Once every year I like to break out all the kitchen utensils I can find and prove to myself and others why I will never make any man a happy, and well-fed, husband. However, this year, things didn't turn out so badly. Maybe not like Mom Shibley's, but the worst thing I made was a mess. The salad was edible, the rice and meat actually tasty, and the dessert: mmmmm. Still, I'm not sure how you can go wrong with pudding, brownies, whip cream and peanut butter cups all in one bowl.
Dave got me some awesome cds and other stuff for my B-day. Friday night Greg, Dave and I went to the casino, where I won 5 dollars on Jeannie. We also discovered there are free pop machines. I'm considering just going next time for the free pop, although the free five dollars was also nice. Then we checked out a bar in downtown Midland for potential Greg-mating possibilities, and deemed the place appropriate for picking up overly made up, drunk females. Exactly what the doctor ordered, I say. But then I realized Dave would have to play wing man, and now I'm not so sure I'm down with this plan.
Saturday, I woke up late and felt pretty crappy all day. Still, we went to Frankenmuth, where we walked through the shops and enjoyed the last real summer day of the year. We went through this mirror maze which was trippy, visited the Christmas store and made fun of the Anglo-Saxon Jesuses (Jesi?), then ate this HUGE chicken dinner at the Bavarian Inn while Michigan State whooped Notre Dame on televisions in the basement. It was my first time in Frankenmuth. I'd say it went successfully.
We came home and played poker with Greg before going to bed. Sunday I woke up late again, and we didn't really do much. The boys made dinner. Then Dave took me to the mall to find a coat for my anniversary present, but I didn't see one I loved. We went to Meijer and then back to his place, where we played, again, poker. I left around 7:30.
I found a job I would love in Ann Arbor, so tomorrow is devoted to getting my application ready. Cross your fingers-- I'd love to atleast get a call back for once in my unemployed, dismal existence.
Ok, I need to go turn off Fox News. My dad likes to turn it on, get really angry and then go to bed. Too bad he forgets to turn it off when he leaves.
Good night!

Well, try to keep it short and don't repeat things that are in your resume. Anecdotes are good ... some story related to the qualities you could use in this job, or some time you proved yourself during a deadline or in leadership. Something a little more personal that introduces yourself. Good luck!!!
